Belk Internship Program Overview:
Belk Interns (BIP’s) are the rock stars of their field.  From Retail Management and Merchandising to Corporate roles such as Sustainability, Event Planning, Human Resources, Creative and Communications, Belk is committed to investing in college students to spend the summer interning with us.  The Belk Internship program is a comprehensive development program which exposes you to executive-level subject matter experts while focusing on hands-on work experience. 

Internship Opportunities:
The Internship program is an intensive 10 week development program created to provide hands on training in the areas of Creative, Marketing, Productivity & Staffing, Human Resources, Special Events and Sustainability.  As an intern, you will participate in a variety of instructor led workshops, project assignments and business overviews to prepare you for an exciting career at Belk.    
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

·         Cross functional program highlighting partnering across departments to execute company goals
·         Provide assistance to your home office on special projects, day to day tasks, and other duties as necessary 
·         Review current processes of your area to help pinpoint areas of improvement from a different perspective
·         Develop ways to engage Belk’s target audience both internal and external through your department
·         Get exposure to senior executives in the corporate organization and in stores

Requirements/Qualifications:
Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale; preferred 3.2 GPA
• Graduation Date between December 2016 and June 2017
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail and customer centric mentality
• Technically competent with an emphasis in MS Office

·         Interns are responsible for their own housing, transportation and meals
