Job Description 
If you’re starting your senior year of college/university seeking work experience in the real world, the Crate and Barrel Store Internship program is a fun way to begin your career in retail. Throughout your internship, you’ll be immersed in the hands-on basics of sales, as well as, gain leadership and teamwork experience in customer service, visual merchandising, and operations.

The program is paid, full-time and runs for 10 weeks.

INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION: 
  • Maximize company sales growth and profitability through developing strong experiences in all business areas, including sales,store operations, and merchandising with an emphasis on selling , customer service and teamwork.
  • Support store sales and service goals as communicated by the store management team.
  • Lead by example and support store management in holding self and others accountable for store profitability.
  • Develop and demonstrate company standards in selling, customer service, visual merchandising and teamwork.

Overall Job Function: Assists Management team in overseeing floor coverage, driving sales, merchandise presentation, customer service, and operational functions within the store including opening and closing the store according to H&M guidelines
 
Job Responsibility including but not limited to:

Customer Service
  • Maintain the high quality of H&M customer service by providing the best shopping experience for each customer and role modeling the 5 basic demands
Job Knowledge
  • Ensure that all merchandise is properly received and placed on the floor in a timely manner and according to merchandise guidelines
  • Execute merchandising campaigns, promotions, activities and customer rounds as assigned by store management
  • Address any loss prevention and safety issues that may occur while on duty and bring any escalated concerns to management team

  • High School graduate or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of retail customer service experience

As a participant in the Stage Stores Executive Development Program, you will receive 12 weeks of general training in our merchandising division. Upon completion, you will begin a rotational program first as an Assistant Buyer followed by a rotation as an Allocation Analyst. After these two years, you work together with the company to determine the best long-term career track you want to follow. As an Assistant Buyer:
Objective: To support the Buyer in carrying out the day to day operations of the Merchandising division; to identify and develop new processes to maximize the efficiency of the buying process; to cultivate and maintain smooth relationships with vendors, including communication and payment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Gain an understanding of how Buyer and the Merchandise Planner projects all SOC components.
