As a member of Target’s Communications team you will you will spend approximately 50% of your time dedicated to Operations support for the Communications team and 50% of your time supporting traditional PR across the team working closely with internal and external partners.

  • Execute day-to-day team operations responsibilities including leading the team in use of measurement tools, budget tools, working with vendor partners, working with the PR Sample Office, compiling media reports, managing weekly media email recap process and more .
  • Educate and onboard team and agencies on new and existing processes and tools, while surfacing new ideas and recommendations to team and supervisors.
  • Develop and implement small scale PR plans for category and brand businesses with a high degree of independence, and support team on planning and execution of larger scale PR programs.
  • Develop relationships and knowledge of supporting business areas both internally and externally—includes communicating with internal business partners (social media, events, marketing, etc.) and working with external agencies and spokespeople.
  • Demonstrate media relations skills including building relationships with key media contacts, outreach and managing media inquiries about category and brand initiatives as well as basic Target information.
  • Write, edit and disseminate PR plans and media materials. 
  • Help manage budgets.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2 years of practical experience in the communications field
  • Strong verbal, presentation and written communications skills
  • Some travel will be required
