SUMMARY:
This Fashion Merchandising Internship will be a ten week learning experience to develop a foundational knowledge of the merchandising, visual, planning, and allocation function. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced environment and curate a unique and original assortment for Charming Charlie. You will work in unison with merchants, planning and allocation, visual, and the sourcing team to achieve your collection.
The 10 week program will include a variety of educational experiences. Some of which will include:
- Learning our product lifecycle; from concept to in-store execution
- Assist in the analysis and creation of product performance reports
- Attend milestone meetings to gain valuable insight and knowledge on product performance
- Learn how to build an assortment
- Learn to create and maintain purchase orders
- Collaborate on a Competitive Shopping project
- Exposure to marketing/PR teams to see how product is selected for campaigns
- Final Presentation at the end to show what you have learned
BENEFITS:
- 40 hours per week, Paid Internship, plus receive College Credit (as applicable)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelors degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field
- Prior retail experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects
- Strong mathematical capabilities with ability to analyze data
- Strong detail-oriented and accuracy skills

Internship: Redbook
The fashion department at Redbook magazine is seeking interns to work alongside the Fashion Director and Fashion Assistants for: 2016 Summer Semester (Starting May through August).
Candidates must have a professional attitude, a strong interest in fashion/style and be able to commit to a minimum of three to four full days a week. Interns will receive a first-hand experience to learn about the inner workings of a fashion department within a print magazine. They will learn to navigate a fast-paced environment and have the opportunity to be exposed to multiple facets of a fashion department.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Checking in and returning samples
– Coordinating sample pick-ups and returns
– Managing the PR database for the fashion department
– Organizing and maintaining the fashion closet
– Setting up for photo shoot run-throughs
– Packing for and unpacking from photo shoots
– Assisting Fashion Director on photo shoots
– Helping Fashion Assistant with credit requests and handling ongoing market requests as needed
– Assist the Fashion Director and Market Director on market appointments
– Completing any and all other administrative work the team needs
Candidate must be extremely organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This position requires long hours so candidates must be dedicated and highly motivated. A positive attitude is a MUST. Previous internship or fashion experience highly encouraged.
