Internship: Redbook Magazine Fall 2016 - New York, NY

The fashion department at Redbook magazine is seeking interns to work alongside the Fashion Director and Fashion Assistants for the Fall 2016 semester, (mid-August through December). 


Candidates must have a professional attitude, a strong interest in fashion/style and be able to commit to a minimum of 2-3 full days a week. Interns will receive a first-hand experience to learn about the inner workings of a fashion department within a print magazine. They will learn to navigate a fast-paced environment and have the opportunity to be exposed to multiple facets of a fashion department.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Checking in and returning samples
– Coordinating sample pick-ups and returns
– Managing the PR database for the fashion department
– Organizing and maintaining the fashion closet
– Setting up for photo shoot run-throughs
– Packing for and unpacking from photo shoots
– Assisting Fashion Director on photo shoots
– Helping Fashion Assistant with credit requests and handling ongoing market requests as needed
– Assist the Fashion Director and Market Director on market appointments
– Completing any and all other administrative work the team needs

Candidate must be extremely organized and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This position requires long hours so candidates must be dedicated and highly motivated. A positive attitude is a MUST. Previous internship or fashion experience highly encouraged.

Internship: Retail Merchandise - Follett



Retail Merchandise Internship 
Northern Arizona University Bookstore – Flagstaff, AZ 
May – July 2016 (10 week program) 



Program Summary: 
Follett's Retail Merchandise Internship provides talented, business-minded college students with a 10-week, hands-on learning experience from May-July 2016. Throughout the summer, interns have an opportunity to work alongside Follett's bookstore leaders in a world-class retail environment. Follett's interns are paid hourly, receive an employee discount on campus store purchases and must complete pre-employment background check process. 

Job Description: 
As a member of the Northern Arizona University Bookstore’s merchandise team, you will perform a variety of responsibilities that will include, but are not limited to: 
Ensures the in-store merchandise display process from stockroom to sales floor serving as liaison between the store and the Home Office Planner. Creates and maintains displays in compliance with company standards. 
Assists GM manager with communication to corporate office regarding reorders and requests for markdowns. 
Ensures merchandise is managed in accordance with company policies and management directives. 
Ensures pricing and inventory integrity and executes Home Office initiated markups and markdowns. 
Partners with the Store Manager or Department Manager to execute promotions and sales, ensure proper inventory levels based on sales and trends. 
Ensures shelves and other displays are stocked, restocked and maintained according to company standards. 
Conducts store walkthroughs on a daily basis to ensure proper stock levels, inventory placement and customer service level. 
Builds key partnerships with store management and campus organizations for promotional opportunities, special events, and off-site sales opportunities. 
Ensure merchandise is properly displayed, priced and stocked throughout the summer remodel of the NAU Bookstore. 

Minimum Qualifications: 
 Currently enrolled at Northern Arizona University with anticipated graduation between December 2016 - May 2017 
 GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above 
 All majors are welcome to apply; business related curriculum is preferred. 
 Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to identify and solve problems 
 Strong computer proficiencies in the Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to efficiently learn new technologies 
 Excellent customer service acumen 
 Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment 
 Ability to work as part of a team and independently 
 Previous retail experience strongly preferred
