Internship: Phoenix Art Museum - Phoenix, AZ


The internship program at Phoenix Art Museum provides current undergraduates, graduate students and recent graduates, with opportunities to work on projects directed by Museum staff. Interns are introduced to the broad spectrum of museum work and to Museum staff, departments, programs and operations. Internships are offered in three sessions per year, Spring, Summer and Fall. Summer interns generally work 20 hours per week; schedules may vary slightly to accommodate departmental needs. The summer internship session begins in early June and lasts for eight weeks, for a total of at least 160 work hours. Fall/Spring semester and special-project interns' schedules vary according to the internship position and to accommodate class schedules, but total at least 120 work hours.
Unless otherwise noted ALL internships at Phoenix Art Museum are performed on a volunteer basis. Museum staff members aid in the intern’s pursuit of academic credit, if applicable. All interns receive a one-year membership at Phoenix Art Museum.

Job description

Position Summary
Zazzle is looking for a rock star Photo Studio Intern for this summer. The individual will work in close collaboration with Photographer and Stylist on a variety of projects. You’ll be part of a small Creative team where you’ll get to wear multiple hats in a fun, hip start-up environment.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Track and pull products, props, and studio equipment.
  • Assist in photo shoots and tear down of sets.
  • Process and light retouch product and editorial shoots.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of our in-house photo studio.
  • Learn and grow skills through hands-on experience.
Minimum Requirements
  • Majoring in Photography, Design, Styling/Visual Merchandising, or a related field.
  • Available to work during normal business hours during the summer.
  • Experience with Capture One, Photoshop, and Microsoft software.
  • The ideal candidate is detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage time and deadlines.
  • Related work experience in photography, video, design, advertising, or marketing is a plus.
  • Portfolio with some practical studio experience.
Educational Requirements
  • Majoring in Photography, Design, Styling/Visual Merchandising, or a related field.

·      Support one or more product categories from design concept to production garment
·      Responsible for daily and seasonal tracking of prototype samples
·      Assist with organizing, tracking, and approving embroidery & graphic art.
·      Assist in building technical packages including Bill of Materials, specs, pattern blocks, construction, etc.
·      Sample Prep including measuring & evaluating samples for spec, construction & quality; Checking & identifying differences between vendor pattern & requested block
·      Assist with organizing category standards for fit, construction and quality, and other reference tools
·      Assist with organizing & maintaining a pattern library and sample library
·      Assist with fit sessions on live models
·      Communicate with overseas vendors
·      Assist with product presentations and department or cross-functional reference tools

  • ·      PowerPoint skills a plus
