Belk Internship Program Overview:
Belk Interns (BIP’s) are the rock stars of their field.  From Retail Management and Merchandising to Corporate roles such as Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, E-Commerce, Human Resources, Creative and Communications, Belk is committed to investing in college students to spend the summer interning with us.  The Belk Internship program is a comprehensive development program which exposes you to executive-level subject matter experts while focusing on hands-on work experience.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
The Marketing Internship program is an intensive 10 week development program created to provide hands on training in the areas of Marketing and Social Media .  As an intern, you will participate in a variety of instructor led workshops, project assignments and business overviews to prepare you for an exciting career in Marketing.

·         Create and analyze strategies on social media outlets like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook to drive business

Requirements/Qualifications:
Qualifications:
• Current undergraduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale; preferred 3.2 GPA
• Graduation Date between December 2016 and June 2017
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail and customer centric mentality
• Technically competent with an emphasis in MS Office

Internship Logistics
·         10 week, paid internship based in Charlotte, NC
·         Start date: June 2016
·         Interns are responsible for their own housing, transportation and meals

Designed to start your career fast and move you directly into an assistant department manager role, our Retail Management Internship includes hands-on selling experience. 
Location: U.S. and Canada.

THAT CAREER WOULD GO PERFECTLY WITH YOUR SHOES 
As a part of our General Headquarters Internship—which includes Marketing, Product Development, Finance and eCommerce—you’ll work on strategic projects, interact with leaders and get an intensive look at what it takes to bring our shopping experience to life.

BUY, BUY, BUY…SELL, SELL, SELL 
In the Merchandising & Planning Internship, you’ll work side-by-side with the talented people who buy and plan the product we carry in our Nordstrom stores, the Rack and online. You’ll learn what it takes to bring trend-making fashion to our customers. Students who successfully complete this internship may be offered a role in our Merchant-in-Training program.

WHERE BUSINESS AND FASHION MERGE 
In our MBA Internship, you’ll tackle strategic initiatives focused on your area of expertise while working side-by-side with Nordstrom leaders. MBA summer interns are eligible to be hired into our two-year Leadership Rotation Program to gain multiple experiences throughout the company. Open to first-year MBA students.

TECHNOLOGY AS FORWARD AS FASHION 
As part of our Technology Internship, you’ll get hands-on experience with coding, trouble shooting and automation on diverse projects, including mobile apps, web technology and infrastructure automation. Open to active college students.

NOW, THE FINE PRINT 
Unless noted, our programs are open to active college students who are enrolled in accredited institutions and applicable degree programs, and will graduate in 2016 or 2017. They must also be able to commit to a full-time schedule. We’ll begin accepting applications for our Technology Internship in October and all others in December.
