francesca’s® is seeking motivated rising juniors and seniors to spend a summer in our Merchandising department located in our corporate office in Houston, TX. Participants will experience 10 weeks of hands-on learning focused primarily on the product life cycle and gaining perspectives from cross-functional team members in our Buying, eCommerce, Marketing, and Distribution departments.
Responsibilities:
In addition, participants will have the opportunity to work on a number of projects and deliverables, including the following:
- Understanding and executing departmental strategies
- Maintaining assortment sheets and compiling reports
- Supporting the team in the purchase order process
- Preparing for meetings
- Maintaining samples
- Performing competitive analysis research
- Presenting a project at the end of the 10 week internship program
- Other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Resume and a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Professional/Academic recommendations
- Must be a rising Junior or Senior in a fashion retail program at an accredited university
- Ability to independently secure housing in the Houston area
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Should have strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail necessary
